Preem's history and management

Preem was formed in May 1996 and quickly became a well-known brand. Today, Preem is Sweden’s largest fuel company.

In May 1996, the industrial company OK Petroleum changed names to Preem. Preem quickly became a well-known brand through a merger of all Texaco stations in Sweden and all OK Petroleum stations in southern and western Sweden. Preem is owned by Saudi businessman Mohammed Al-Amoudi.

Preem employs around 3,000 people including partners and resellers. Of them, just over 1,200 are Preem’s own employees of whom 900 work at the refineries in Gothenburg and Lysekil.
