Preem's history and management

Preem was formed in May 1996 and quickly became a well-known brand. Today, Preem is Sweden’s largest fuel company.

In May 1996, the industrial company OK Petroleum changed names to Preem. Preem quickly became a well-known brand through a merger of all Texaco stations in Sweden and all OK Petroleum stations in southern and western Sweden. Preem is owned by Saudi businessman Mohammed H. Al Amoudi.

Preem employs around 3,000 people including partners and resellers. Of them, just over 1,400 are Preem’s own employees of whom 950 work at the refineries in Gothenburg and Lysekil.
